Dennis Teakle is a visual artist working primarily in oils and watercolour. His work is often described as Impressionistic and Expressionistic because of his ability to capture the immediacy of a fleeting moment and imbue atmosphere and mood by his bold use of line and thick, distinctive brush strokes. He graduated from the Ontario College of Art & Design in 1966 with a degree in Fine Arts; as well as studying two years of anatomy at Toronto University. His career as an artist saw him put his love of painting to work in teaching and book illustration; Dennis illustrated several children’s textbooks and articles for Toronto Life Magazine. He currently offers workshops in Life Drawing. Dennis exhibits extensively in Ontario and Nova Scotia, and his work is in many private and public collections.
